Important School Information 9/1/2021
1. September Newsletter - Please see the September newsletter, which includes important EPIC events
2. School Site Council/ELAC/DELAC - EPIC is seeking parent representatives to serve on the EPIC Site Council/ELAC/DELAC, an important advisory body to school administration. Meetings are held every other month, via Zoom, at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoons. Please email Jerry Kosch at jerry.kosch@gcccharters.org if you are interested in participating.
3. After School Program - We are excited to have received an ASES Grant to expand our after school program. We are currently hiring staff for the program. We will start our after school program as soon as possible. If you are interested in working in the after school program, please go to www.edjoin.org and search for listings under Gateway Community Charters.
4. Independent Study - There are new laws about independent study and it can only be used for family emergencies and illnesses/quarantines. Independent Study must be issued in 5 day increments and all work must be returned or your student's absences will be unexcused. Failure to return work will result in no more independent study issued to the student. All requests for Independent Study must be submitted to the Principal, Jerry Kosch, at jerry.kosch@gcccharters.org
Summer Information
EPIC Office will be closed for the summer from June 17th-July 23rd. Our Office will reopen for the 2021-22 school year on Monday, July 26th
All K-7th grade EPIC students were invited to keep their chrome books for the summer so they can use them to continue their learning over the summer. EPIC administration has put together a flyer of suggested online resources to support summer learning. This flyer is pasted below and attached to this message as a PDF document.
We do still have room for new students at EPIC. If you or someone you know has a student who wants to join the EPIC family please have them contact the EPIC office at 916-286-1960 or they can get an enrollment card by visiting our website at www.epicib.org.
The first day of the 2021-22 school year is Wednesday, August 11th. We cannot wait to see you then!

I know we all prefer to be in the classroom socializing and learning in person, however, we are going to do our best to teach and learn online together until we can safely return to school. I am happy to announce the astroturf field is officially installed and students will be surprised how big it is. I look forward to using it as soon as possible.
