The Program for Artistic Development is designed by the Creative Endeavors Council to contribute to the development of Bikol arts and culture through uncovering artistic potentials and talents in the Ateneo de Naga University community, particularly the students. This program recognizes the importance of investing in the development of young artists, who will continue to propagate and promote the rich and diverse culture of Bikol society. The program aims to help young artists gain networks and become more confident, informed, and appreciative of Bikol arts through any of the following ways:
Participation in workshops, seminars, forums, and orientations
Expanding one’s network through involvement in festivals/arts market
book launches
podcasts
Involvement in apprenticeships in creative projects of professional artists
mentorships
conversations with artists
OBJECTIVES
To create comprehensive skill-based programs that provide trainings and experiences in dance, digital arts, film, literature, music, theatre, and visual arts, exploring each area of the artistic processes (i.e pre-production, production, and post-production)
To seek collaborations or partnerships with emerging and professional artists, cultural stakeholders, and/or creative arts organizations through festivals and arts market, in providing opportunities for young artists in nurturing their talents and skills
To integrate and develop a community of artists that appreciates and understands the value of the arts
To promote an appreciation and understanding of the value of the Bikol arts in all facets of our daily life
To foster and promote a sense of Bikol identity through the use of the arts
QUALIFYING CRITERIA
PAD is open to all bona fide students and full-time/part-time faculty members and staff of Ateneo de Naga University
Participants must be willing to engage in workshops/training in the field they are interested in. Experiences/ artistic engagements are preferred but not essential.
Registrations of students aged 15 years below must include a consent letter from a parent or a guardian.
