With the formal creation of the Creative Endeavors Council (CEC) in April 2021, new systems and guidelines on the administration of the incentive awards for creative endeavors have been initiated for the continuing creation of a more robust creative culture in the University. In the 2023 amended policy on incentive awards for creative endeavors, the CEC was authorized to provide monetary incentives of up to ₱30,000 to faculty and staff who have produced and/or performed distinctive quality work in the creative arts.
I. Eligibility Criteria
Artists with full-time or part-time employee designation across basic and higher educational levels in ADNU at the time of publication/exhibition/performance of the creative work
Artists with expressed affiliation with ADNU (e.g., provision of ADNU’s location and/or ADNU e-mail address as contact detail/s in the exhibition, publication, or credits, bearing of ADNU’s name in pub mats, contracts or agreements for book cover designs, performances, etc.)
Creative works with a date of publication/performance/exhibition not more than 365 days before the date of submission of the application form
Creative works published/performed/ exhibited for the first time
Non-commissioned or commissioned works by agencies outside of ADNU
In cases of collaborative projects, submission of contracts, credits display, and/or proof of the signed agreement between or among parties specifying the tasks of each collaborator.
II. Exclusion Criteria
Creative works commissioned by particular units in ADNU (which may be applied for merit or social-involvement incentive)
The performance/exhibition/authorship of creative works is part of the employee’s job description
Self-published works
Repeat performances/exhibitions or succeeding print editions.
Performances/exhibitions for ADNU audiences only
Creative works deemed by the CEC to be propagating a harmful, backward, or regressive ideology (e.g., works that flagrantly incite extreme radicalism and/or social injustice including but not limited to corruption, gender and racial discrimination, violence, human trafficking, involuntary servitude, child pornography etc.).
III. Schedule of Incentives
A. Music
Composition of a musical album consisting of original song lyrics and arrangement and produced by a reputable music company (₱30,000)
An award-winning composition in a full-length film/3D animation or in a prestigious competition (₱20,000)
Composition and/or arrangement of a song produced by a reputable music company or published in a scholarly book to accompany a dance choreography (₱15,000)
B. Fine/Digital Arts
An award-winning work of traditional/digital artwork (e.g., contemporary painting, print-drawing, illustration) or sculpture, mural, community art, installations vetted by a prestigious international selection committee (₱30,000)
A fully documented major solo exhibition of traditional/digital artwork (e.g., contemporary painting, print-drawing, illustration, sculpture, mural, community art, installations) curated by a prestigious selection committee (₱15,000)
Full illustration of artworks created using any traditional/digital medium, published in a book (e.g., children’s book, photo book) by a reputable publisher (₱15,000)
Prototyped industrial designs(e.g.,product design, furniture design, model/construction) exhibited in a prestigious venue (₱15,000)
Commercial photography made part of a full national advertising campaign (₱10,000)
A published photograph/artwork in a national or international newspaper/magazine (₱10,000)
A fully documented major group exhibition of traditional/digital artworks (e.g., contemporary painting, print-drawing, illustration) or sculpture, mural, community art, installations curated by a prestigious selection committee (₱8,000 per artist)
A traditional/digital artwork (e.g., illustration or photograph) published in a book, photo book, magazine, website, game) by a reputable publisher or organization (₱8,000)
C. Dance
Choreography/direction/production of an award-winning dance vetted by a nationally/internationally-recognized selection committee (₱30,000)
Choreography/direction/production of an original dance concert or show (virtual/live) performed in a prestigious international venue, by a prestigious organization, or uploaded on a reputable website (₱25,000)
Choreography/direction/production of an award-winning dance (virtual/live) performed in a national festival or recognized by a reputable organization (₱20,000)
Choreography/direction/production of an award-winning dance (virtual/live) performed in a regional festival or recognized by a reputable organization (₱15,000)
D. Film/Documentary
Direction/authorship of an award-winning full-length film/3D animation/documentary vetted by an internationally/nationally- recognized selection committee (₱30,000)
Direction/authorship of an award-winning short film/3D animation/documentary vetted by an internationally/nationally- recognized selection committee (₱20,000)
Direction/authorship of a full-length film/ 3D animation/ documentary exhibited in a prestigious national/international venue (₱15,000)
Direction/authorship of a short film/3D animation/documentary exhibited in a prestigious national/international venue (₱10,000)
Direction/authorship of an award-winning full-length or short film/3D animation/documentary exhibited in a regional festival (₱8,000)
E. Animation
Animation of an award-winning short/full-length film vetted by a prestigious international selection committee (₱30,000)
Animation of an award-winning short/full-length film vetted by a prestigious national selection committee (₱20,000)
Animation of a short/full-length film published or exhibited in a prestigious international festival/venue (₱15,000)
Animation of a short/full-length film published or exhibited in a prestigious national festival/venue (₱10,000)

F. Literary Works
A collection of one’s original short stories, poetry, plays, creative non-fiction, or mixed genre published by a reputable publisher (₱30,000)
A single work of fiction, poetry, play, creative non-fiction, literary translation, or mixed genre included in a book or anthology published by a reputable publisher or in a reputable, peer-reviewed journal (₱15,000)
G. Theater Arts
Authorship/direction of an award-winning play vetted by a nationally/internationally-recognized selection committee (₱30,000)
Authorship/direction of a play performed in a prestigious international venue
- Full Length (at least three-act) (₱25,000)
- One or two-act (₱20,000)
Authorship/direction of a play performed by a prestigious international organization

Note: Only creative works published/exhibited/performed during the academic year immediately preceding the implementation date of this policy shall be considered eligible for monetary incentives (May 2022 - June 2023).
