In celebration of Buwan ng Wika, the ADNU CEC is inviting submissions of creative works in various art forms such as music, dance, literature, digital arts, visual arts, film, and theater. All entries must be written or performed in Filipino or Bikol. The five best submissions will be recognized, with each winner receiving two free tickets to Mga Aninipot sa Tahaw nin Salog, scheduled on August 29 and 30, 2025.
The Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino (KWF) emphasizes for this year’s Buwan ng Wika Celebration that young Filipinos may no longer be that knowledgeable of local languages, and that children should be encouraged and taught to speak their mother tongues (ABSCBN, August 12, 2025). This initiative aims to give greater recognition to Philippine languages and encourage student artists to value and integrate their cultural roots in their artistic expression. Since art reflects culture, this activity highlights the heritage of the Filipino language and its capacity to be expressed through multiple artistic forms.
The play, Mga Aninipot sa Tahaw nin Salog, is a product of cultural work and research, so having the chance to watch a Bikol musical brings together cultural appreciation and artistic enjoyment.
LAKSA TEAM BUIDLING ACTIVITY
As members of the Creative Endeavors Council, we believe in the power of the arts not only to express but to transform. In a world where service and leadership are increasingly vital, there is a call to deepen our identity as Men and Women for Others—rooted first in a clear understanding of the self and then expressed in community.
This team-building activity aims to reconnect us with our inner selves through reflective, intrapersonal exercises, using art as a mirror and catalyst. From this internal “spark,” we then shift toward interpersonal engagement, encouraging each participant to share their passion, purpose, and creativity in meaningful connection with others.
By grounding this experience in our love for the arts, we reignite purpose and create a shared space where reflection leads to action, and art becomes a bridge between the individual and the collective.
