The Office of Creative Endeavors Council, in partnership with the ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ข๐ ๐ข๐ญ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐๐ง๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง, organized the ๐๐๐๐-๐๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ซ ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ง๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ ๐๐๐ฆ๐ฉ. The program was designed to address certain challenges of DIA interns, provide hands-on experience, enhance employability, foster industry collaboration, and advance their educational practices in Digital Arts.
Commencing on 6 June 2024, the workshop is divided into two departments: Animation and Game Development. The entirety of the internship was facilitated by two DACA faculty members who provided weekly progress reviews and assessments on the final projects.
The Outputs Showcase was held in DIA LAB 1, on July 26, 2024, at 3:00 PM. It featured the impressive works of the participants, including three games and one animation animatic, all developed during the DACA-CEC Digital Media Production Workshop.
Celebrating a century of cinema-going culture since the establishment of Naga's first movie house, and honoring notable artists from the region, the ๐๐ญ๐๐ง๐๐จ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ง๐๐๐๐ฏ๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ข๐ฅ, in partnership with Ateneo Film Society and Naga City Arts and Culture Coalition, hosted a workshop on ๐๐ช๐ณ๐ฆ๐ค๐ต๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐ข๐ด๐ช๐ค ๐๐ช๐ญ๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ข๐ฌ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ last August 13, at the Instructional Media Center, Ateneo de Naga University. The resource speaker is the acclaimed director from Masbate, ๐๐ข๐ซ๐๐ค ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฅ๐ญ๐๐ซ๐๐ฃ๐จ๐ฌ, who is notable for his contributions to the digital age of New Queer Cinema.ย
In ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐จ: ๐๐ข๐ซ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ค๐ฌ๐ก๐จ๐ฉ, participants are equipped with the fundamentals of filmmaking, absorbing firsthand knowledge and insights from the seasoned director, thus, helping them sharpen their critical and creative competencies for their short film projects.
The Office of the Creative Endeavors Council, in partnership with Gantala Press, a Quezon City-based feminist publication, organized a one-day all-women and queer art event called GGSSG! at the Xavier Hall, on August 16, 2024.
The phrase โGandang-Ganda sa Sariling Gawaโโfinding oneโs own work beautifulโ aimed to give women and queer artists the avenue to celebrate one another, by showcasing an array of zines, stickers, accessoriesโall crafted with passion and purpose.
The Ateneo Dance Club wowed the crowd with grooves, while the poetry readers moved everyone with their words. The artistry of our Bikol Drag queen infused the event with a dynamic blend of feminine and queer expression.
The event also featured a panel discussion on the joys and struggles of being a woman and queer writer in the digital age. It also emphasized the importance of opening spaces for women and queer artists in the country and recognizing their contributions to the creative community.ย
