What is the Spanish Club?
The Gateway Spanish Club is an environment outside of the classroom where those who have a passion for other cultures can get together, participate in activities and meet other like-minded students. Additionally, the club honors the importance of helping the community by participating in community service projects. This club is student-led, providing students with the chance to develop their leadership skills and make a difference in their community. We welcome both middle and high school students to join us!
What activities do we do?
We participate in various activities throughout the year.
We enjoy dinner at restaurants such as La Esperanza, Tortilla Cantina Press, Cuba Libre, and Rodizio.
We attend an out-of-state trip every year such as New York City, NY or Baltimore, Maryland.
Other trips include: Flamenco Show in Delaware, Believe it or Not Museum, Musicals, United Nations Building, Capoeira Classes, Johnson's Farm, Virtual Paint Night, Cooking Contests, etc.
We have several fundraisers throughout the year including selling items such as Krispy Kreme donuts, candy, and empanadas. The proceeds of the fundraisers assist the students by offsetting the price of their trips!
We are always open to new possibilities ever year!
How are we involved in the community?
We collaborate with other clubs in the school to participate in different activities that help people in our community.
We assist and participate in different school events such as “Adorable Doors” and many other service projects.
We donate books, toys, and clothes to kids at Mi Casita Development Center. We also take several trips there throughout the school year to spend time with the kids and personally bring them donations!
We assist with donations to victims of natural disasters and people in need in our community.
