Madrigals
Welcome to Gateway's Madrigals Singers Page!
The Madrigals Singers is an auditioned choir that consists of students who participate in GRHS's High School Concert Choir. Participating in the HS Concert Choir is a requirement in order to be eligible to audition for The Madrigals Singers.
The Madrigal Singers will rehearse every Wednesday night, all year.
The regular rehearsal time is 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Times may vary as needed.
The week of the Fall Play (which usually happens the week before Thanksgiving), rehearsal may be rescheduled to an afternoon time in order to accommodate cast members. The group will not rehearse during the month of the Spring Musical, however rehearsals will resume the week after the show is completed.
During the month of March, Madrigals takes a break in order for it's members (and director) to focus on the upcoming Spring Musical. Rehearsals will resume on the first Wednesday of April.
Since the group only rehearses once a week, it is essential that everyone be there. There are only six rehearsals before the first performance of the year. Attendance is expected at every rehearsal. Members are allowed two unexcused absence per semester. More that two unexcused absences will result in a probationary period. If absences continue, it will result in being dropped from the group.
Open to on HS Students who are active members in the HS Concert Choir.
There are no Dues needed in order to participate in this activity.
In order to become a member, you must audition using pre-selected music from the Choir Director.
