Reading Log
*No reading log this week due to a short week*
To ensure that students are reading on a regular basis at home, reading logs will be sent home weekly to be filled out showing what book students read and for how long each day. This will need to be signed by parents.
Reading logs will be sent home on Monday and collected the following Monday.
Students have completed their middle of the year diagnostic for reading that will then give them lessons for their path on skills that they need to work on.
Students have also completed their STAR test for an updated and middle of the year lexile reading level.
*Look for this information to come home next week.
Weekly iReady expectations have been sent home.
I am meeting with small groups while others work on journal writing, independent reading, and reading skills.
We have been getting on chromebooks and joining and signing into various websites we may use throughout the year. All login information will be on a sheet that we will staple to the front of their planner.
Students have joined my Google Classroom, logged into a site, Epic!, that has books to read online, and other reading sites.
We will be reading about Black History Month and a few well known African Americans.
Students will also complete some research.
