In order to compete at the university division I, II or III level students have to meet certain requirements. One of the most important requirements is the courses they take in high school as well as how well they do on their ACT Test. Students must complete 16 core courses that have been approved by NCAA.
The information you need to know can be found by going to https://www.ncaa.org/sports/2021/2/8/student-athletes-future.aspx . This website has a great publication that can help you get started. It is called the Guide for the College-Bound Student Athlete. It can be found by placing your mouse over the "Student Athletes" tab at the top of the page and a drop down menu will appear. The link is on that menu.
On page 20 through 24 of that guide is a worksheet that you can use to make sure your students have and are taking the correct classes that will help them so they are eligible. To find our high school's list of approved courses visit eligibilitycenter.org/courselist. In addition to the courses listed, many of the concurrent classes taught through SNOW, SUU or other concurrent options may also count.
