Serve consistency
Serve control and placement
Point play with serve conditions
Taking care of 2nd serve and using it as a weapon to control first point.
Instructions
Working on different parts of serve (Toss, Contact point and Service motion)
You can do each station 2-3 times before moving to the next one
Adjust rules according to level
Make more challenging by doing it in a row
First one to do all stages wins
Three Stages
Stage 1 Toss accuracy station
Have to toss ball and hit cones/racket
Make sure you doing serve motion
Toss it high enough like you are doing your proper serve and not too low
Stage 2 Contact station
Throw ball up and before it starts going down try to hit with your other ball
This one makes you work on your contact point and just going for the shot
Always remember to do a good service motion
Stage 3 Serve motion and throwing power
Throw the ball using hip and shoulder turn
Still same as your serve motion that you are working every time.
Make sure you are throwing over head and not under hand throw.
Instructions
Start close to the net until you reach the baseline
Making sure you are doin your proper service motion and not just pushing ball in
Good balance, nice contact point and smooth follow through
To make this easy you can just get it anywhere on the other side of the court or do under hand serve
To make it more challenging do it in a row or put a target on the other side
Do as many times as you can to get better rhythm and better feel for your serve
Instructions
You split service box into two parts
You alternate to nominate where you want to serve the ball
You have to hit target where you nominate and same for your opponent
If both of you miss then no one gets a letter
If one gets it and other one missed it then they get a letter
If both gets it in then no one gets a letter also
To make it easy you can just try to get it in without any target
To make it harder split serves box into 3 parts so your target will be (Wide, Middle and Down the T)
You can also adjust and do under hand or any rules that you want
You can also make words longer or shorter
Instructions
Normal playing points but with conditions when you serve
You can play a normal set or a tie breaker
This drill practices your consistency and things you can do if you have a good serve
You can be creative and set your own rules for serves to make it more challenging
To make it easier - you can do bounce hit serve or on the full underhand serve
3 Rules we did:
1 - You only have one serve, so if you miss you lose point straight away
- working on consistency and serving under pressure
2 - Now you have three serves
- You can be aggressive for your first 2 serves because you have 3 serves
- So plan and work with what strategy you want to use
3 - Last rule is receiver will tell you where they want your serve to be hit. So FH or BH side and you have to hit it there or you lose the point
- This will make you work with your accuracy and serving under pressure.
