Guiding Statement

The Chess programme at UWCSEA aims to allow students the opportunity to develop skills; give access to appropriate challenges; support leadership and teamwork. A major outcome is that we hope students discover chess as a lifelong passion.

To cater for the wide range of UWCSEA student competitive and non-competitive interests and aptitudes in Chess. 

General

Students may represent UWCSEA in a wide range of selective and non selective College, Local Singaporean and International leagues, events and competitions.

Eligibility is based upon students meeting the criteria below:

• Commitment - Students are required to train with UWCSEA and should meet the training expectations that are specified for the team

• Performance - Students should meet the performance levels specified for each sports team at each age and / or ability level

• Values - Students should exhibit the UWCSEA Phoenix Spirit Values
