A resume or CV is a one-to-two page summary of your achievements, qualifications, hobbies and interests. It is how you promote yourself to a potential employer or internship host. CV stands for Curriculum Vitae (Latin for 'course of one's life')/ resume (pronounced rez-ooh-may).

Think about how you want to present yourself to a potential employer.
Leadership roles
Activities, services
Clubs and societies you are in (inside/ outside school)
Personal hobbies
Awards
Soft skills- with examples of when you have used them (collaboration, communication, self-management, leadership, teamwork, organisation, problem solving)
Hard skills (industry specific skills): ie fluency in language, fluency in coding
Personality traits: Add in some of your strengths from your MBTI personality test.
Your academic journey (your previous schools)
Create a folder in your GDrive- CV/ Cover letter
Download a template: one page ( formal positions or creative positions ) or one page or two page and save to your drive. You can also use Canva . Nb- No photo/ mobile phone number please.
Make a generic CV/ resume that shows off all your skills
Start off the bullet points with a verb. Match your skills using this List of action verbs
Put experience above education
Show impact by using data. Include the 'So What'?
Check the small things- every thing counts. Make sure your spelling/ grammar/ punctuation are error free and consistent.
