(9th Sept 2022)

3 Teams from both UWCSEA Dover and East campus attended the finals for the Hyundai Motor Group Purpose Built Vehicle Competition. The competition was open to Singapore high school students interested in helping Singapore’s first-ever electric vehicle manufacturer design the next-generation vehicle. Over the course of the competition, students were taken on tours of two venues; The Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre in Singapore’s Electric Vehicle Training Space and the HP-Nanyang Technological University's Digital Manufacturing Corporate Lab.

The final event took place at the School of Science and Technology in Singapore, we were honoured to have Minister Iswaran attend and he visited each team to find out more about their proposals and experiences. A total of 10 teams competed in the finals and teams from both UWCSEA East and Dover left with awards; East won 3rd place overall and Dover was awarded the most creative team. All teams did very well and the efforts from all were acknowledged by the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre in Singapore and Hyundai Cradle in Singapore.
