KEEP UP TO DATE WITH SSEP
Innovation@EAST update on upcoming clubs and events
2nd October 2025
We had the exciting opportunity for High School students to visit the SMU - Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition.
This gave them the opportunity to meet and mix with the students, professors and VCs involved in the competition. A handy and timely head start for SSEP.
With so many projects, things are beginning to take shape and get very busy, with students collaborating across Junior, Middle and High Schools
Active Projects & Sessions
SSEP Entrepreneurship Programme: On 1st October we launched the SSEP in the Black Box @ East Campus. Busses from Dover brought students and we had a fantastic turn out. With over 250 Students and 60 Teams competing in this years SSEP, East and Dover really came together. A huge thank you to all those parents from both campuses, your time and expertise will really give our students that head start in the years to come, possibly sooner.
'Formerly' TecTrike: This UWCSEA East and GESS initiative has kicked off! Students have made excellent progress and the TecTrike has now been fully stripped. The student weighed the options of trying to fix a piece of propriety hardware with exchanging it for things we already had.. It looks like they've chosen the latter. We have teams on electrics, on frame and now on design and steering.
BattleBots: Our Middle School FLL activity was unfortunately closed due to numbers, but in its place, BattleBots has re-emerged! The third session this week saw some completed battle platforms. We're looking to the first contest.
MATEROV: The MATEROV activity is well under way as students complete their health and safety training for the engineering of submersible robotics.
All things MineCraft: The Forth MineCraft session ran this week, where Junior School students formed 2 groups and had their second "build off" the context was Farming.
Our grade 6 Minecraft expert, Patrick, is in the process of designing a Speed Run league. With teams of 5 players building and exploring as fast as they can to race their way to the end game. Look here for further details in the future.
Hextraction: Our Grade 9 3d Printing Guru, Alexis, has been working on recreating the game Hextraction for us at Innovation@EAST. If you're interested in learning more, take a look at:
