New GB Standards

New Grade Book Standards

The new grade book provides new options for grade book display of standards as well as for the setup of standards. New grade book standards are referenced in the New Grade Book Assignment section where standards would be added to an assignment, and are explained in detail below.

- New Grade Book Standards Display Options

TeacherVUE has a number of features that hide or display standards information. Information can be grouped and filtered, which helps with analyzing grouped and individual student data and proficiency.

Assignment and Standard View By

Student data can be grouped and viewed as Assignment Units, Assignment Categories, and Assignments by Week or viewed as Standards by Assignment, Standards, and Parent Standards.


Hide By Group

Groups of standards, parent standards, assignments, units, categories, or assignments by week can be hidden except for the one standard, assignment, unit, category, or assignment by week that you need to focus on. Click on the Hide Other Groups button to hide all other groups.


Click on the Show all Groups button to display all groups.

Options Affecting Standards Grade Book View

Class Marks - Display or hide student course mastery level.

Class Pct - Display or hide student course score based on proficiency calculation method chosen. 

Fill Down Grades - Display or hide the option to mass fill a grade down, left, or right of the current grade.

Show Only Ungraded - Use this feature to display only assignments that have not been graded yet for all students.

Progress Bar - Display or hide the progress bar. The progress bar gives an overview of student performance as set by an analysis band. Emails can be sent to all students contained within any specific proficiency level.

Analysis Bands - Display or hide analysis band display colors.

Grade Detail - Display or hide the standard grade details.

Grade Detail On/Off

Grade Book Grade Detail pop-up can be hidden or displayed using the Grade Detail button that is located in the Options window as well as at the top of the main New Grade Book page.


Grade Details displays and allows data entry for all standards that correlate to a score as well as analysis and notes.

Active Filters


Active Filters allows you to display only the specific assignments, standards, units, or categories that you wish to see, and filter out the rest.


Click on the arrow icon ► to expand filter types out and select specific assignments, standards, units, or categories.


Pin a filter type to more quickly access it from the Active Filter button.


Column Filters

The New Grade Book grid allows teachers to sort and filter by every Grade Book column. 

1. Select any column header (except the title of an assignment or unit). Grade Book sorts in ascending or descending order by that column. 

2. Select the filter icon and select items from the list to filter the Grade Book. 

3. Click the OK button to refresh Grade Book using the selected filter options

- New Grade Book Standards and Analysis Bands

The new grade book Analysis Band per Assignment feature has replaced the At Risk Threshold feature. Analysis bands assigned per assignment display the color bands on the grade book scores to help teachers visually determine each student's mastery level. Analysis bands assigned per class display the color bands on the Progress Bar located at the top of each assignment header. This helps teachers visually determine the students mastery level, and also provides the ability to message only students in a specific color band.

Analysis bands can be displayed or hidden using the Options menu.


- New Grade Book Assignment Creation with Standards

Click on the Plus symbol located in the bottom right-hand corner of the grade book to create an assignment.


The Standards tab in the Course Item editing window provides the ability to attach any number of standards to an assignment. Click on the Show District Standards button to display the Standards Type, Subject, and Grade Level drop-down menus that assist in finding standards. Click on a standard to add it to the assignment.  Mousing over the Selected Standards button displays the currently selected standards. 

- New Grade Book Assignment Scoring with Standards

Scores can be added directly to the grade book. When entering scores, the fill down pop-up window will display. Click on the down arrow once to copy the entered grade into all empty cells in the same column. Click on the down arrow a second time to overwrite all scores under the entered grade.

Click on the left or right arrow to copy the entered grade into all empty cells to the left or right in the same assignment  or standard row. Click on the left or right arrow a second time to overwrite all scores to the left or right of the entered grade.

The Fill Down pop-up window will only display if the feature is turned on in the Options window.

Scores can also be added in the Scores tab of an assignment using a grid or cards format.
