Students can request their name be changed for a variety of reasons. Doing this impacts their district account and thus, their iPad.
When a student requests the name change and the office staff make the change it Synergy, it can take up to 2 hours for that data to sync between systems. Do not attempt to "fix" the student's iPad or account logins until you can see the account show up on the Admin Tools name change site: https://admintools.bend.k12.or.us/synergy/namechanges.html. This page lists recent name changes at ALL Bend-La Pine Schools sites. It may be wise to regularly check this page for name changes from your school or have the office staff let you know when they complete one.
At this point, contact the Help Desk for immediate resolution. Have the iPad in hand when calling downtown, or leave for your Client Services tech to fix.
What Registrars are trained to do:
"The nickname field in Synergy may need to be updated with the new first name as well. Don’t forget that student’s BLS network accounts and email address use the nick name if something is entered in that field. Our recommendation is that the nick name field is not changed"
