Roots: Antalya

Roots Project Meeting in Antalya Turkey 11.-16.10.2019


We arrived to Antalya on thursday. We met our hosts at the teachers hotel. We went to stay with the hosts. We ate a small evening snack and went to bed.


On friday we had a opening ceremony at school. After the ceremony we learned about the Turkish school system. When we got out of the school I hanged out with my host and his friends.


Saturday started with a guided city tour. After the tour I unfortunately got sick so I couldn’t go to to the traditional wedding with other students.


On sunday we went sightseeing. We traveled with three minibuses. We saw ruins of an old city. We had dinner in a traditional Turkish restaurant. In the evening we climbed a mountain.


On monday we met the mayor of Antalya. After that we went to Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry and had a seminar of Antalya’s traditions. Also other countries had a presentation about their traditions. After the seminar we went back to school.There we tasted every countries traditional snacks and cuisines.


On tuesday we went to see how Turkish people used to manufacture oil. There also was ruins of an old city. After that we went to a class with our hosts. In the evening I hanged out with my host and his friends at a coffee shop.



Wednesday was our last full day at Antalya. In the morning we broke stereotypes about other countries. In the evening we had farewell ceremony. We ate typical Turkish food there. After the ceremony we said our last goodbyes to our new friends. After that I met my hosts friends for the last time. We stayed up really late with my host.


On thursday we left Antalya.
