Dear GAA Community,
GAAPA is pleased to introduce Community Board, which is located at the entrance to GAAPA room (behind trophies).
This board is a great opportunity to advertise your business, items for sale/purchase. Please feel free to print your poster and pin it on the board.
MISSION STATEMENT
An excellent and successful school depends on the healthy partnership between teachers, parents, students and the community. As the identified parent association, GAAPA’s mission is to work in collaboration with the school to encourage a sense of community through events and activities that enrich our children’s educational experience at GEMS American Academy. GAAPA will support, assist and cooperate in events aligned with the school program. GAAPA believes in fostering the tradition of kindness and caring that exists within the school. Within our vast community of learners, we would like to promote the notion of unity in diversity that promotes an acceptance of different cultures and people.
If you wish to join, please feel free to contact our PRE Fatma Chabanova at pre_gaa@gemsedu.com for more information.
We hope to see you all at the 9th Annual International Food Festival tomorrow from 5 pm - 7pm. Adults 30dhs and kids are free (small bills please). Please bring your country flag to participate in the flag parade at 6:15 pm.
If you would like to volunteer and aren't already helping your country booth, please sign up here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Sq3WoLzmwtX8VqwV7Sv6PDn2Wdyqf-ZxiewepzrPY_w/edit?usp=sharing
What is the International Food Festival you ask?
Each year, the International Food Festival lets the GEMS American Academy Abu Dhabi community try native dishes from cultures around the world. The food is prepared by country groups to celebrate the diversity of cultures and heritage represented at GAA. Country Teams come together to prepare their favorite dishes, decorations and entertainment to share a bit of “home” with everyone. Please look out for a school email to inform you of how to get involved. This is a GAA annual tradition that we know you won’t want to miss!
