Before you begin working in the AUD fabrication shop, you must read and understand the policy and rules. These guidelines are designed to keep you and your fellow students safe and promote shop efficiency. On duty shop techs are there to ensure students are working safely and observing all the shop protocols. You must obey the shop techs while you are working in the shop. If you fail to follow the guidelines outlined here, you may lose shop access.
-You must wear at mask at all times while in the shop.
-No eating or drinking in the shop

Eyewear
Safety eyewear must be worn at all times in the shop. Safety glasses are stored in a container at the personal protection station.
Respirators
The shop provides a limited amount of dusts masks that are purchased at the beginning of each quarter. The masks may be used multiple times throughout the quarter, so please take them with you when you finish working.
Ear Protection
The shop provides a limited amount of ear muffs. You may purchase your own pair for better comfort.
Footwear
Only closed toed shoes are allowed in the shop. No flip flops or open toe sandals allowed!
At the end of each quarter, the shop is completely cleaned out. It is important that you remove any models or items you wish to keep from the shop before the quarter ends. All usable sheet material can be stored in the shop if the material is placed neatly on one the large storage shelves in the main shop area. All material must have your name and date clearly written on the sheets you wish to keep for the next quarter. Any material left on the shop floor will be discarded.
Works in progress can only be stored in the shop during the quarter and must be approved by the shop supervisor.
Tools are stored in a locked closet in the shop and are checked out on the honor system. Please do not remove tools from the shop without talking to the shop supervisor. Always consult with the on duty shop techs about proper use. It is your responsibility to return the tools in proper working condition. Clean off the tools before returning.
