This saw is for making accurate strait cuts. The Saw Stop has a safety feature that will prevent serious injury.
This saw uses a builtin computer that monitors a small voltage in the blade. If the voltage spikes (from something conductive ie. a finger) the blade stops and disappears below the table.
Since conductive materials will trip the braking system, you can't cut conductive materials. Below is a list of materials you CAN NOT cut on the Saw Stop.
Mirrored acrylic
Metals of any kind
Wet lumber
Wood containing nails and screws
Insulation foam with metallic backings
Follow the safety guidelines laid out in the shop tutorial and the written guide.
This saw is used for cutting large sheet materials. This typically the first saw you use when you purchase a 4' X 8' piece of material. This is probably the safest saw in the shop and can be used for all your strait cuts.
This saw is designed for re sawing large pieces of hard wood. It can be used for cutting a wide variety of materials such as foam, MDF, and plywood. DO NOT cut plaster, concrete, or metal. See a shop tech if you have further questions.

DO NOT CUT SMALL PIECES ON THIS SAW!!
