I felt that this review was the most productive one I have had in a while. I think getting the outside perspective was very beneficial and aided in my thought process for my final project. I think one thing that stuck with me was to stop worrying about what the audience is going to think about my painting because no matter what I make, it will be stimulating and thought-provoking. Moreover, everyone is going to get a reaction from art, even if it is minimal, and it is something that is different for everyone and is not something I can control. A new suggestion that I want to look into more is a different way to start sketching my work; I should paint something more representational and then from there make it more abstract. This will also allow me to create a more thorough piece because I am able to work through issues and bumps in the road before starting my final piece. Overall, discussing my style, skills, and art, in general, is a very intense yet helpful experience because I usually focus on my internal dialogue which can go either one of two ways; I can either have a distorted and negative perspective on my art or view my art as more skillful and creative than it actually is. Moreover, having a conversation about my art allows me to think about my art and process from different perspectives, in turn, making my art more interesting.
