SWBAT identify an issue that students feel passionate about.
SWBAT connect their learning to Question #1 “What matters to you and why?" Question #3 "How can I make it about more than myself?" and Question #4 "Where do we start?"
In previous lessons, you’ve watched how other people, including your peers, participate in politics in many different ways, beyond voting. Now, it's your turn. Let’s think about the ways you can participate in politics to make a difference.
Where can you start? Think about an issue that matters to you. What issues are important to you, your family, your friends, and your community? For instance, it could be the topic you identified in your identity project. What makes you feel passionate? Changemaking begins by searching for your passion!
2. Choose the threetopics from the list that most align with your passion(s). Brainstorm about why you care about these topics and complete the summary page using the worksheet on the right. Click HERE for your own copy of the worksheet.
