Norcross Cluster STEM Vertical Team

Information for SY24-25

WHY:

The Norcross Cluster STEM Vertical Team has been established to develop a cluster-wide understanding of and vision for STEM-based education for the Norcross Cluster with the ultimate goal of increasing student achievement for all Norcross Cluster students. 

WHAT:

Participants in the Norcross Cluster Vertical Team will have the opportunity to: 

• Develop a cluster-wide common understanding of and vision for STEM education

• Plan for what the future of STEM education can look like for the Norcross Cluster

• See cluster STEM “in action” by participating in and reflecting on STEM classroom observations across grade levels (elementary, middle, high)

• Collaborate on effective science & math AKS integration 

• Celebrate what our cluster is already accomplishing in STEM education!

WHO:

Coordinators:

• Molly McAuliffe & Frank Rodriguez, Stripling ES

Participants:

• Principal (invited, welcome to participate) 

• One identified administrator per school (invited, welcome to participate)

• (Up to) Three teachers per school 

WHEN & WHERE:

• Time: meetings will run from 8:00 - 11:00 AM

• Teachers will be able to submit for “in-service” leave and a ½ day sub will be provided with grant funds (Paul Duke STEM HS is managing the grant) 

• Dates:

  • Monday, November 4th @ Stripling ES

  • Wednesday, December 4th @ Pinckneyville MS

  • Tuesday, January 14th @ Paul Duke STEM HS

  • Monday, February 10th @ Beaver Ridge ES
