Seckinger Theatre Students and Families,
August has been an eventful month! One Acts are underway, a new thespian troupe is taking off, and we are continuing to grow our theatre program! Personally, I am beyond thrilled to be a Jaguar and work with the incredibly skilled, positive, and enthusiastic students at Seckinger! I hope to provide as many opportunities as possible to showcase their passion and talent!

One Act Play Festival and Competition Underway
Actors and Technicians are working steadily toward our first One Act Play Festival, coming October 18-20! The festival will feature three after-school productions and the Advanced Drama production for the GHSA One Act Play Festival Competition.
Shout outs to Assistant Directors Addison Thayer in-class and Arianna Banks after-school for their organization, skill and influence! Shout out to Gabby Bonilla for the poster artwork!
One Act T-Shirts will be passed out this month to those selling ads in the show's program or bringing in Theatre Program Sponsors! Visit the Program Ad or Sponsorship pages for more details.
Online Theatre Fundraiser Launching Friday, 9/8 - WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Please bring 20 email addresses 9/8 so our program can THRIVE!
We will be launching our Vertical Raise fundraising efforts in the coming days and wanted to answer any questions you may have to gain participation. Vertical Raise is a social donation campaign that has simplified the way teams, groups and schools raise money.
Participants will no longer sell any products, staff do not have to manage cash, or keep/distribute inventory. Fundraising is vital for the success of our program and we truly need to raise funds. Vertical Raise has a streamlined process that gives participants the ability to help raise money for a successful season. There have been thousands of programs who have had success utilizing this fundraiser and with your help, our fundraiser will be too.
-All we ask, is that each parent/guardian help their participant(s) gather 20 or more email addresses of their biggest supporters i.e. “Grandma, Grandpa, Aunts, Uncles, Family friends.” Then, emails will be sent to these potential donors where they can view the groups fundraiser page and decide if they want to donate. If not, they can easily delete the email or help by sharing the fundraiser. We are confident there are many people eager to support your child and Vertical Raise’s platform affords them the opportunity to help if they choose. This Fundraiser will be a success if you help develop a quality list. Emails are only used for fundraising and will never be sold or redistributed.

2. ONLINE PLATFORM- We will reach potential donors through email, text and all social media. Through these mediums, donors can visit the team fundraiser page and choose to help support the cause with a donation.
3. DESIGN- Vertical Raise is designed to exponentially increase the outreach of any fundraiser and help relieve the financial burden by accessing people who genuinely want to support the cause.

We will be manually inputting emails on our meeting day scheduled with our fundraising coach, as he walks our team through the process.

Theatre Awards Showcase Nominees
Congratulations to our
Theatre Awards Showcase nominees from Theatre I!
For each class project, one performance will be invited to showcase during our Awards ceremony in May!
Seniors are encouraged to audition a performance for the showcase as we get closer to the event.
The Theatre Awards Showcase is will be held May 15th at 6:00pm and is a free event for theatre students and their families.
The International Thespian Society
ITS Troupe # ???
Seckinger will soon have its very own International Thespian Society TROUPE! The troupe and aspiring members/ admirers :) currently meet on Thursdays after school. Thespians are recognized at the End of the Year Awards Showcase for points earned for contributions to the Theatre Department and the Troupe.
THESPIAN COUNCIL
This week we will be voting for our Thespian Council, so students may hold leadership positions and have even more influence over our troupe and theatre program!
THESCON
Thespians have the opportunity to attend THESCON February 1-3! This is the Georgia State Thespian Conference, and a highlight of any theatre program's year!
Registration for Thescon begins for Seniors on September 26. Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors can register starting October 3.
Coming Soon: Seckinger's Lip Sync Battle!
After The One Act Play Festival, we will be hosting our first ever Lip Sync Battle!
Students prepare their own act to a school-appropriate song to audition on Tuesday, November 7th.
The performance is Wednesday, September 15th, and will feature every theatre class performing a routine from a Broadway musical!

The Advanced Theatre students have designed the theatre shirt, and the Tech Theatre students the Tech shirt! There are additional designs to choose from!
