You did it!
I have been teaching P.E. and Health for over 33 years. I love teaching physical education at Harbins,
In addition to teaching my family loves to play golf together. My husband and kids all played golf in college and I played softball at Florida Atlantic University.
Looking forward to a fantastic year.
P.E. offers multiple clubs in the mornings. Be on the lookout for more information.
I am excited to start my third year here at Harbins in a new role as the PE Para. I think it will be fun to see all of the kids in the school, including my 5th and 2nd grader.
The students are working on being able to move safely in general space without bumping into other students. The students will learn to travel safely in general space, they will perform various locomotor skills as they incorporate changes in speeds, levels, pathways and directions.
KPE.A.2: Demonstrate competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of activities
KPE.A.2.a: perform specified locomotor movements with balance (e.g., walking, running, hopping, jumping and landing,
galloping, leaping, sliding and skipping)
KPE.A.3: Demonstrate understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to learning and performance activities
KPE.A.3.a: differentiate between movement in personal space and in general space by traveling without bumping into another student
KPE.A.3.c: travel in three different pathways on verbal command (e.g., straight, curved, and zig-zag)
KPE.A.3.d: travel in general space with different speeds and different levels
First grade students continue to explore with great excitement what they can do moving with locomotor patterns. Students will learn mature patterns of hopping, jogging, galloping and sliding and will be able to combine these patterns with smooth transitions and vary the patterns. They will be working on take off and or landing, jumping without a double step and reviewing all locomotor skills.
1PE.A.2: demonstrate competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of activities
1PE.A.2.a: hop, gallop, jog, and slide using mature form
1PE.A.2.b: demonstrate two elements for jumping and landing in a horizonta plane
1PE.A.2.f: demonstrate basic movement patterns, such as changing levels, directions, and pathways
Students will demonstrate the difference between jogging and sprinting, maintain safe personal space in movement setting, and perform a self-created repeatable movement sequence. Develop a repeatable sequence of three locomotor patterns with a smooth transition between and a clear beginning and ending and teach it to your partner They will also learn how to travel in different pathways.
2PE.A.2: demonstrate competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of activities
2PE.A.2.a: use a combination of various locomotor movements demonstrating mature form while traveling in a variety of pathways
2PE.A.2.b: travel, showing differentiation between jogging and sprinting
2PE.A.2.d: demonstrate four elements of jumping and landing in a vertical plane (hips, knees, and ankles bend in preparation for jumping action; arms extend upward as body propels upward; body extends and stretches upward while in flight; hips, knees, and ankles bend on landing; shoulders, knees, and ankles align for balance after landing
2PE.A.3: demonstrate an understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities
2PE.A.3.e: maintain personal space in a movement setting
Students will demonstrate the ability to leap using mature form, travel using different speeds displaying the differentiation between jogging, running, and sprinting, jump and land in horizontal and vertical planes for distance and height and chase, and successfully flee or dodge an opponent while playing a game using basic movement concepts and soccer skills.
3PE.A.2: demonstrate competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of activities
3PE.A.2.a: leap using a mature form
3PE.A.2.b: travel using different speeds to differentiation between jogging, running, and sprinting
3PE.A.2.u: chase, flee or dodge an opponent while playing a game
3PE.A.3: demonstrate an understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities
3PE.A.3.a: recognize the concept of open space in a movement context
3PE.A.3.b: recognize locomotor skills specific to a variety of physical activities
3PE.A.3.f: apply simple strategies and tactics in chasing, fleeing, and dodging activities
The student will learn how combine locomotor and movement patterns and demonstrate how they relate to other physical activities. Students will be able to apply their knowledge of movement concepts to show the relationship between the individual movements and how they are used in real life “soccer game” situations.
4PE.A.2: demonstrate competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of activities
4PE.A.2.b: combine locomotor and a variety of skills in practice and game settings
4PE.A.3: demonstrate an understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities
The students will be able to apply offensive and defensive strategies in a variety of soccer settings and games. Students will be able to apply these skills as they demonstrate invasion tactics while playing lead up soccer games.
5PE.A.2: demonstrate competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of activities
5PE.A.2.b: combine locomotor and a variety of skills in practice and game settings
5PE.A.3: demonstrate an understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities
5PE.A.3.a: apply the concepts of open and closed spaces in a practice or small-sided game setting
5PE.A.3.d: apply basic offensive and defensive strategies/tactics in small-sided game settings (e.g., invasion, chasing/fleeing, and net/wall)
