Kindergarten will be exploring line, pattern and color and building skills like folding, cutting and gluing. They will work independently and in group settings and learn to take risks and not be afraid to try something new.

First grade will be exploring the Elements of Art, especially LINE, SHAPE, SPACE and COLOR. They will learn how colors are made and how to mix colors to achieve the desired effect. They will experience art by using some materials they've never used and some that they have used, but in a new and different way!

Second grade will use sources from nature as inspiration for drawing and printmaking. They will use paper to create sculptures and explore symmetry and radial design. 

Third grade will use some everyday materials (like shaving cream) to create interesting images. They will try their hand at animation and explore color theory by using science!

Fourth grade will explore OP Art and create optical illusions with everyday objects as subject matter. They will create radial designs with pointillism and design and create a unique self portrait. They will explore math within the design world and utilize some drafting tools in creating works of art.

Fifth grade will practice the skill of graphic lettering, create a unique clay self portrait, use watercolor to depict a flower and explore radial design! They will use a variety of materials that will give them skills and confidence to apply what they use in other subject areas and in future projects. They will be encouraged to be brave and try new techniques in order to grow!
