* EPIC students take Chemistry in 9th grade. EPIC students take Biology or AP Biology in 10th grade.
Students outside of EPIC take Biology in 9th grade and Chemistry in 10th grade.
Math
Geom/Accelerated Geometry / Gifted Geom/Accelerated Geometry OR
Algebra / Gifted Algebra (New for 2024-25)
* Placement is determined by the student's 8th grade math class. Students should intend to take an AP math class senior year. Please see the math pathway page for more information.
Engineering Pathway
Foundations of Engineering OR Engineering Concepts
* Engineering placement is determined by whether the student was in Dr. Pauli's 8th grade Engineering class at Osborne. Students who took Dr. Pauli's 8th grade Engineering class at Osborne will be placed in Engineering Concepts. However, students can be placed in the same 9th grade engineering class regardless of whether they are in Foundations or Concepts.

Health AND PE (Required)
* Students will take Health for one semester and PE for the other semester. Students also have the option to take these classes over the summer, so that they can take another elective during the school year.

* The only AP courses available for 9th grade students are AP Computer Science Principles, AP Human Geography, and AP Statistics. Students interested in the AP Capstone program must maintain a 4.0 and have at least 1 AP course their 9th grade year to be eligible.
** For admission to Georgia four-year universities, students are required to pass specific courses in each academic area including two units of the same modern or classical language.
