The environment at Lanier CDT will be a professional working studio where groups of students are given the same problem to solve and students work in groups or individually to create the solution. Independent work stations for each student as well as areas for planning and producing projects will be required.
Although students work independently and in small groups, the open environment assures contact and communication with other students and with the instructor. The instructional program will allow for flexibility for students but will also require that students assume responsibility for their studies and for their time.
The Lanier Center for Design and Technology will prepare future workers with a high level of academic skills and the ability to be comfortable with ideas and abstractions, good at both analysis and synthesis, creative and innovative, self-disciplined and well-organized, and able to learn quickly and work well as a member of a team.
