Contents

1. 申請システムについて / Application System

Q1　紙媒体での申請（郵送申請・窓口提出等）は受け付けてもらえますか？
　Is paper application (Application by postal mail, submission at the counter, etc.) acceptable?

A.　紙媒体での申請は一切受け付けません。申請書類全て（申請書：様式1、評価書：様式2、成績証明書）について、紙媒体の提出は不要です。募集要項「5．申請手続」を参照のうえ、申請受付システム（下記ページ）にて、学内申請者又は学外申請者を選択のうえ、電子申請してください。また、今後採用が決定した場合も、紙媒体書類を提出する必要はありません。

　We do not accept any paper version of application documents (Application Form=Form1, Evaluation Form=Form2, and academic transcripts). Please apply electronically. Regarding application procedures, please refer to Application Guidelines "5." and apply on Application System. Even if you are accepted, in the future, there will be no need to submit paper version of application documents.

2. 申請書類の作成 / Preparation of Application Documents

Q2　申請様式の枠の大きさ(幅)や記入方法を変えても良いですか？
 　Can I change the size (width) of the application form frame and how to fill it out?

A.　申請書類の様式に変更を加えることは認めていません。

   We do not allow changes to the application form.

Q3　申請にあたり、不安な点やわからない点（またはやむを得ず提出できない書類）があります。
　In applying for IST-RA, I have some concerns and unclear points (or I cannot submit some documents due to unavoidable circumstances).

A.　申請フォームの最後の項目として自由記述欄を設けておりますので、気になることがあれば詳細をご記入ください。

The last item of application form is a free description field. If you have any special circumstances in application, please provide details.

Q4　やむを得ない事情により申請期間内に成績証明書を提出できません。その事情を記した書類を代わりにアップロードしたいのですが、指定の様式はありますか？　I am unable to submit academic transcripts within the application period due to unavoidable circumstances, so I need to upload a document explaining the reason for this. Is there a designated format?

A.  　指定の様式はございません。ご事情が分かる内容が記されていればかまいませんので、自由な書式でアップロードしてください。

There is no specific format. In the free format, please upload the content that explains the reason why it cannot be submitted.

Q5　現在、修士課程学生の学生のため博士課程の成績証明書が提出できません。どう対応すればよいでしょうか？　 I am unable to submit doctoral academic transcripts because my current status is a master's course student.  What should I do?

A.  　修士課程学生のため提出できない旨を記入した書類をPDFファイルでアップロードしてください。書式に指定はありません。

Please upload the document in a PDF file stating that you can't submit it because you are a master's course student. There is no specific format. 

Q6　現在、修士課程の学生ですが、申請者情報の学籍番号の欄は何を書けばいいですか？　I am a master's course student. Which number do I need to fill in for 'the Student ID Number' on the application form?

A.  　東京大学大学院の学生の場合は、修士課程における現在の学籍番号 (48-******) をご記入ください。

Student ID Number is your current student number (48-******) at The University of Tokyo. 

Q7　学外申請者ですが、様式1で学籍番号の代わりに記入する受験番号（4桁）がまだ発行されていません。何を入力すれば良いでしょうか？  I am an external student, but my examination number (4-digit) in place of the student ID number is not issued yet. Which number do I need to fill in for 'the Student ID Number' on the Application Form1?

A.　受験番号（4桁）がわからないまたは未発行の場合は、受付番号（5桁）を記入してください。
Please fill in your  application receipt number (5-digit) if you do not know your examination number (4-digit) or if it is not issued.


3. 申請後の流れ / After Application

Q8　評価書以外の申請書類をアップロードしましたが、評価者（指導教員予定者）に評価書アップロード依頼のメールがまだ届きません、大丈夫でしょうか？　I have uploaded IST-RA application documents and my Evaluator also uploaded Evaluation Form, but I have not received a e-mail notification of completion of Evaluation Form uploading. Is it all right?

A.  　評価者への評価アップロード依頼メールはシステムから自動送信です。評価書以外の申請書類をアップロードしてから１日経っても評価者にメールが届かない場合は、本FAQ末尾にあるアドレス宛にメールによりお問い合わせ下さい。

Requesting email to Evaluator of applicant to upload Evaluation Form is sent automatically. If your Evaluator does not receive an email after one day you upload application documents other than Evaluation Form, please contact us by email at the end of this FAQ

Q9　申請書類をアップロードし、評価者による評価書アップロードも済んでいますが、評価書アップロード完了の通知が届きません。大丈夫でしょうか？　　I have uploaded my application documents and the evaluator has uploaded the evaluation form, but I have not received   notification of the evaluation form upload.  Is everything ok?

A.　評価書アップロード完了の通知は自動送信です。評価者が評価書をアプロードしてから１日経っても通知が届かない場合は、本FAQ末尾にあるアドレス宛にメールにてお問い合せ下さい。  E-mail notification of completion of Evaluation Form uploading is sent automatically. If you do not receive a notification one day after your Evaluator uploaded Evaluation Form, please contact us by email at the end of this FAQ.

Q10　採用されなかった場合も結果通知を受け取れますか？　Can I receive a notification if I am not accepted?

A.　はい。不採用の場合もメール通知します。2023年7月下旬～8月頭ころに通知予定です。

Yes, you will be notified by e-mail even if you are unsuccessful. It will be in late July - early August 2023 (planned).

4. IST-RA制度について / About the program

Q11　IST-RAの採用期間を延長することはできますか？　Is it possible to extend the employment period of IST-RA?

A.  　IST-RAの採用期間は1年間ですが、研究科が期末に審査を行い優良と判断した場合には採用期間が1年ごとに更新され、最長で標準修業年限まで支援を受けることができます。 

The empolyment period of IST-RA is one year, but it can be extended up to the standard duration of study if the student's reseach activities are judged to be good enough by the annual evaluation conducted by the graduate school.

Q12　既にIST-RAに採用されており、2024年4月/2023年10月以降も受給を希望します。今回の募集で改めてIST-RAに申請する必要がありますか？　I've already accepted as IST-RA and would like to continue to receive salary after April 2024 / October 2023. Do I need to apply to IST-RA again?

A.  　既にIST-RAに採用されている方は、IST-RAに改めて申請いただく必要はありません。2024年4月/2023年10月以降も更新採用を希望する場合は、2024年春/2023年秋に差し上げる予定の案内にしたがって、所定の書類をご準備ください。

Those who have already been accepted as IST-RA don't need to apply to IST-RA again. Please prepare the required documents in accordance with the guidance to be provided in Spring 2024 / Autumn 2023 for those who wish to renew their acceptance.
