Math: Place value up to 100,000 and Addition & Subtraction. We will learn all of the forms of numbers (standard, expanded, word, and base-10). The students will also be able to add and subtract using those forms and identify the place value of a number in isolation.
Science: States of Matter and Mixtures & Solutions. Our first month of school is spent with a few fun experiments. We will learn the different states of matter and how a substance can change states. We will then move into mixtures and solutions where we will practice creating examples of both!
Social Studies: Historical figures. We will explore a few important figures in the history of our country and how they impacted our lives today.

We’re off to a great start of 3rd grade! Everyone looks so happy walking in every morning and some don’t want to leave in the afternoon! We have a talented group of students and I can’t wait to see the growth we make this year.

Birthday Celebrations: You may send a small treat with your student for their birthday. We do not interrupt our academic time to celebrate birthdays. Instead, we take a few moments at the end of the day to sing and enjoy a treat if provided.
School Cafe: Add money to your student’s account for lunches and breakfasts. Meals are no longer free. Contact me if you need your student’s ID number.
