The biggest thing to note this month is the upcoming STAAR dates. Being their first STAAR test of many, they may be nervous and anxious. We try to make this experience as fun and stress-free as we can. We will be working very hard in class these next couple of weeks so the homework may be limited. I would love for them to have time to relax their brain at home or participate in their extracurricular activities to give their brain a break.Â
Tips for a successful STAAR day:
A good night's rest
Eat breakfast or buy breakfast from the cafeteria
Bring a snack and water
Wear a light jacket (it gets chilly in our room)
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes
Important Dates!
April 1 - No School
April 5 - All Pro Dads at 6:55 AM
April 12 - Early Release at 12:00
April 16 - Reading STAAR Test
April 20 - Denton Dash 5K
April 24 - Math STAAR Test
April 26 - Field Day
April 29 - Dairy Presentation (rescheduled from Career Day due to weather)
Coming in May we will be doing a culture project called "Eat Around the World"
Attached is the flyer for the project. We will be working on it at school and encourage students to also work at home!
