Fall Concert - A Journey Through Outer Space

Our first performance of the year is coming up next week! This year's fall concert theme is Outer Space. The 6th-8th grade orchestras will be presenting a concert of outer space themed music for your enjoyment.
All students and audience members will enter at the back doors next to the cafeteria.

Philharmonic Orchestra required warm-up time 6:00
Chamber Orchestra required warm-up time 6:30

All orchestras will wear their orchestra t-shirt and jeans for this concert. Any style of shoe that you normally wear with jeans that is appropriate for school is acceptable.
Concert Etiquette
For the success of our performers and the enjoyment of our audience members, we expect all students and audience members to adhere to the standard concert etiquette guidelines listed below.
All students are completing a lesson on our Student Concert Guidelines, after which they will sign a concert behavior agreement. Any students who are unable to adhere to the agreed upon guidelines will receive consequences during the concert or through a follow-up with an administrator the following day. Concerts are major assessment grades, and concert etiquette is a part of our curriculum and TEKS standards. Students are graded in part on following correct concert etiquette guidelines, including following the assigned dress code and behavior expectations.
Audience Concert Guidelines:
Please silence phones and devices and avoid opening a bright screen on a device in a dark theater.
Please remain silent and seated during performances.
If absolutely necessary to leave the theater, please do so in between performing groups or during an intermission if there is one.
Please only acknowledge the performers with applause. Please avoid shouting or yelling at any performers.
Please do not begin clapping for a group until the conductor's hands are down. Some music has silent moments that should not be interrupted with applause. A moment of silence at the end of pieces helps ensure all audience members get the full effect of the final notes of the piece.
Please do not take flash photography. Bright flashes in a dark theater can distract performers.
Please take small children out of the performance hall if they become disruptive to other audience members
Fundraiser
The orchestra exceeded our goal on our fall fundraiser and we will likely not need any major fundraising activities the rest of this year. Thank you to all orchestra students, family and friends for your participation in our fundraiser and helping us raise what we need for our activities for this school year.
