Dear Newton Rayzor Families,
My name is Jessica Vu, and I’m excited to introduce myself as the EXPO Specialist here at Newton Rayzor! I’m honored to support our students through Denton ISD’s gifted and talented program also known as EXPO.
What is EXPO?
EXPO is Denton ISD’s program for gifted and talented learners, designed to challenge and support students as they develop critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and leadership skills. We focus on engaging, hands-on learning experiences that go beyond the general curriculum and help students grow as curious, compassionate, and capable learners.
If you think your child might benefit from the EXPO program, I encourage you to learn more by watching this short video:
What is Gifted? – EXPO Video
Families can also find detailed information about the EXPO program, including identification procedures, referral forms, and program goals on the district website:
dentonisd.org/expo
What if my child was in EXPO or another gifted program before?
If your child was previously in EXPO at Newton Rayzor or another Denton ISD campus, their services will continue here at Newton Rayzor — no additional steps are needed.
If your child was in a gifted program in another district, please complete the EXPO Transfer Request Form to begin the process of determining eligibility for gifted services in Denton ISD: EXPO Transfer Student Form
If you have any questions about the program, referral process, or transfer procedures, feel free to reach out to me directly at jvu@dentonisd.org. I’m here to support you and your child every step of the way. Looking forward to a wonderful year of learning and growing together!
