Note

To access Note, open the All Apps menu by swiping up from the home screen or selecting All Apps from the overlay toolbar. You can also use the remote control shortcut (pencil icon) located below the cursor arrows.

*Add Note to the toolbar or create a shortcut on your home screen or app tray. Simply press and hold the app, then drag it to your desired location.

Pen

Pen options are located on the toolbar. Tap Pen to to view your four pens (pencil, paintbrush, calligraphy, and magic wand)

For each tool, you can adjust the color and pen thickness.

Depending on your settings, dual pen colors may be enabled, allowing different pen options to be assigned to each side of the stylus or to stylus and finger input. To turn this feature on or off, go to Menu (bottom left), select Settings, and toggle Multi-finger Writing.

Eraser

Use hand gesture erasing by placing your palm flat on the panel. To adjust the eraser size, select Eraser from the bottom toolbar. This method removes ink only—objects such as images or text boxes must be selected and deleted individually.

To enable circle-to-erase, go to Menu (bottom left), select Settings, and enable Erase Selection. Once turned on, you can circle any content on the screen to delete it.

Preview

Use the Preview tool to access the infinite canvas. Drag the page with one finger to move or use two fingers to zoom. Preview opens a mini map. A highlighted rectangle shows the current view. Drag it to navigate the canvas.

Select

Use the Select tool to move writing or objects on the screen. Drag with one finger to reposition, or use two fingers to resize by pinching or spreading. Select an object, or circle and tap a section of writing, to access additional object tools.

Instructional Tools

Additional tools available on the bottom toolbar include Ruler, Shapes (2D and 3D), Table, Mind Map, Sticky Notes, and Grid. Select a tool and follow the on-screen prompts to use it, or refer to the User Guide for more detailed instructions.

Note that some tools require two taps—one to select the tool and a second to open its full menu.

Pages

The page toolbar is located in the bottom right of the interface. Use the plus icon to add pages, the previous and next arrows to navigate, and select the page number to jump between pages.

Inserting Media

Import

Android Note will allow importing of image or PDF files from local storage, a connected cloud drive or a connecting USB drive.

Crop & Insert

You can insert screenshots from any input—including a connected computer—directly into your Note file. Use the Crop tool from the overlay toolbar, then select Insert.

Backgrounds

You can insert an image as a background instead of an object. You can also choose from preset options such as colors, lines, grids, music staff, or various field layouts.

To apply a background, select Menu (bottom left), then choose Theme. Toggle between Template and Background, select your option, and choose OK.

To remove a background, select the first template option (blank screen with no symbol).

Saving and Opening Files

Save

To save a file, select Menu from bottom left and choose Save. This saves as an enb file type for reopening within the Note app. Pick your desired file location (Android local storage, cloud or USB, if connected).

Export

To save a file as an image or PDF, select Export and choose your desired file type. Pick your desired file location (Android local storage, cloud or USB, if connected).

Share and List

Share allows users to quickly provide an HTML image to others through a QR code.

List shows thumbnail previews of all saved Note files.

Exit vs Leaving Note Open

If you would like to leave Note open, you may simply navigate away by selecting processes or home or selecting a new app from the overlay toolbar. Note will remain open and you may toggle back at any time and the file will remain open, even after turning the panel off and on again.

Exit will close the Note app. You will be prompted to save your file. When Note is opened again, a blank file will be presented. If you would like to open a previously saved Note file, you may do so by double tapping the file from the Finder app, or by opening Note, select Menu, Open and double tapping the desired file.
