The economy plays a big role in any town, and Toccoa is no different. The economy controls things like businesses, industries, housing conditions, and job availability.
Bussiness and Industry:
There was a variety of different shops and bussnesses in the town of Toccoa, as well as the surrounding area. The biggest draw in the town seemed to be Toccoa Falls College, and this university also offers jobs for people like professors, librarians, janitors, and more. There are also different kinds or resurants, food markets, barber shops, botique stores, and more within the downtown area.
Housing Conditions
Just like many small towns, there is a large variety of homes in terms of size and quality. As we drove through the downtown area of Toccoa, the houses were average size and looked like typical southern homes, with brick or white wood and wrap around porches. On the outside of the town are, we saw areas with trailer homes and smaller homes that looked like they were falling apart. However, we also passed a good bit of extreamly large, barn-style houses with big green lawns and multiple vehicals.
Job Availability
After driving around Toccoa, it seemed like there were many different places one could find a job. Researching this when we got back allowed us to learn that there is good job avaliability within the many sectors of bussness in the town. Some examples of open jobs are server, cashier, nurse, college professor, and more.
