Lessons 1-13

Students will be learning various parts of a narrative and have many opportunities to practice narrative writing. Listed are some components we will review:

• Describing characters
• Describing settings
• Writing events in order
• Using temporal words and phrases (First, Then, Next, etc..) to sequence events
• Write a dialogue
• Write dialogue to show a character's response
• Describe character experiences and responses
• Write to provide closure to a narrative

Lessons 14-18

Students will be going through the writing process: prewrite, draft, revise, edit, and final copy on a narrative.

Performance Based Assessment

Students will be using knowledge from lesson 1-18 to complete a narrative based on a writing prompt. I have attached the grading rubric used for this assessment.
