Led global digital transformation and Agile delivery initiatives that modernized Sun Chemical’s web, marketing, Salesforce, analytics, and business technology capabilities while establishing repeatable Scrum/DevOps practices for cross-functional delivery.
Problem Statement
Sun Chemical needed to modernize its global digital and marketing technology environment, improve collaboration between business and IT, establish more disciplined software delivery practices, and create scalable solutions that could support global operations. The organization also faced challenges involving fragmented technology, inconsistent delivery processes, limited visibility into business performance, and the need to integrate technology following business and M&A activities.
Review
As Global Web Architect & Solutions Manager and Scrum Master, I provided technology leadership across global digital initiatives, connecting business strategy with IT execution. I introduced and institutionalized Agile/Scrum practices, sprint-based delivery, structured requirements, backlog management, stakeholder collaboration, and release planning, creating a more transparent and repeatable approach to delivering technology solutions. I partnered with business, marketing, finance, and technology stakeholders to translate business objectives into executable technology roadmaps and delivery plans.
I led the implementation and enhancement of digital capabilities spanning web architecture, Salesforce/Pardot, analytics, business intelligence, social media, and marketing technology, while coordinating development, testing, deployment, training, and adoption. I also supported M&A-related technology activities and developed solutions that improved business visibility and operational effectiveness. One notable example was the development of a machine-learning business intelligence solution for approximately $10K compared with a potential $1.7M vendor solution, providing the organization with greater control of the technology and significantly reducing the anticipated investment.
From an executive leadership perspective, I established a delivery model focused on business value, operational efficiency, governance, continuous improvement, and measurable outcomes. I developed training and Agile practices that improved team collaboration and delivery discipline while helping business stakeholders understand and actively participate in technology delivery. The program contributed to measurable digital growth, including a reported 20% increase in sales associated with the electronic media marketing organization and a 400% increase in online presence/visitor activity, while creating a foundation for scalable digital delivery and improved technology-business alignment.
