Google Accounts
Teachers in FUSD1 use Google Suites as a mode of instruction. A lot of the required work is completed in Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides. The student school affiliated accounts are what students use to work with these applications and communicate with their teachers.
Many students in the district have their own email accounts with Google or other companies, but the FUSD1 iPad requires the use of the students’ school affiliated accounts to work with their teachers and classes (the student’s ID@fusd1.org).
It is very important that the given username and email accounts provided by FUSD1 be the only accounts added to the school iPad. If there are other accounts connected, this will cause unnecessary loss of time because teachers identify their students by their school usernames.
Removing a Non-FUSD1 Account
To remove an account that is not the affiliated account from FUSD1, a student must follow these steps:
Open Safari
Type www.google.com in the search bar
Click on the initials or picture in the top right hand corner of the screen
Click on the words sign out
Lastly sign in using the FUSD1 given email account; 12345678@fusd1.org
“My iPad isn’t working!”: Clearing the Cache
Sometimes your child’s iPad will get stuck in loops and nothing will work. Apple has done an incredible job of trying to make their devices very smart and helpful. They have programmed the device to “remember” things for the user so that different tasks can be accomplished very quickly and easily. However, this feature can cause frustration and make things “just not work”.
One of the remedies that we recommend is to remember to occasionally Clear the Cache. This removes the “remembered” items and lets your child import the information that he/she is seeking. Here are the steps for clearing the cache on your child’s iPad.
Open the Settings app
Tap on “Safari”
Tap “Clear History and Website Data”
Confirm that you want to do this by tapping Clear in the Clear History and Data dialog box.
