This experience for local TK-5 teachers is funded by a California State University Chancellor's Office grant dedicated to providing professional development to teachers of mathematics around data. We are partnering with Fullerton Unified School District in Orange County, California and Norwalk La Mirada Unified School District in Los Angeles County, California to provide support on infusing data science into elementary education mathematics curricula.

Project IDEEM -- Infusing Data Science Education into Elementary Mathematics -- will host a four-day summer workshop to increase credentialed TK-5 teachers’ data science literacy. Invited teachers will earn a stipend to engage in practical, hands-on learning activities that can be infused into their existing math and elementary curricula. No prior data science training required!
Two goals for Project IDEEM teacher participants are:
To strengthen content knowledge of data science concepts for TK-5 elementary teachers.
To gain experience infusing data science activities into existing TK-5 elementary mathematics curricula.
If you have questions, please contact Dr. Bridget Druken (Principal Investigator) at bdruken@fullerton.edu.
