Video: UDL at a Glance (4:36 minutes) - CAST explanation of how UDL guides the design of instructional goals, assessments, methods, and materials that can be customized and adjusted to meet individual needs.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an educational framework based on research in the learning sciences, including cognitive neuroscience, that guides the development of flexible learning environments that can accommodate individual learning differences.
This module was created by the CEEDER Center for pre-service and in-service educators who want to learn about how the Universal Design for Learning framework can be used to make curriculum design and classroom instruction accessible for all students.
The first section includes an interactive journey through the principles and guidelines that make up the UDL framework.
The final section provides the participants with an opportunity to integrate the framework into their lessons and classroom practice.
