The goal of 2023-24 Science PD is to continue to engage students in learning science like scientists. The following three opportunities are available for teachers:
Fall Design Days: On popular demand, we are offering design days as a protected space and time for course-alike teams from different sites to continue working towards the implementation of the NGSS in the classroom. Each design day is from 8:00 am-3:00 pm.
Site-based Symposia: Each site’s science department will decide on the goals, frequency and dates/times in partnership with the science DL and CL. No sign up needed.
Visit another science classroom (CP, Honors, AP, Sheltered, Science and Society) either from their own content area or from a different content area and either from your site or another site. After the visit, each teacher pair will have a post-visit discussion about what the visitor noticed and share reflections in terms of ideas/strategies that could be added to the toolkit.
