One more year, our students in 2nd grade participated in a bilingual school trip with three more bilingual schools from our province. Students from different schools in Cella, Monreal and Las Viñas worked together with our bilingual students at Fuenfresca. The topic of this year´s project was the USA.
Our students learned about different aspects of the USA, aspects like fauna, geography, festivities, food, important places or interesting information.
This was a fun and fascinating project for all our students and they practiced listening, speaking reading and writing in an integrated way through this topic.
Our students met their penfriends in Cella and they exchanged their last postcard where they wrote about all the fun facts they learned about the USA.
Teachers and students valued this, once again, as a very motivating and fun experience for all. Activity that teachers plan on continuing next year!
The students who attend the campus participate in activities such as biology and chemical classes, workshops about food, fashion, music, medicine or culture. Moreover, it's a good time to discover some adventure parks with amazing zip-lines, play mini golf or drive karts. At night, students enjoy the party or terror night a lot.
It is a unique experience to put into practice everything that they have learned using English to communicate with the American, Canadian and British teachers while attending the different lessons during these days.
It turned out to be an exciting activity that students loved and a terrific way to close their last year in Fuenfresca's school!
EVERY YEAR
Our school participates in the Aragonese Science Fair. Four of our 6th graders represent our school presenting their wonderful work about different scientific contents: acid rain, reducing and recycling water, etc.
First of all, they think about a topic of their interests and together with the teachers, they decide how to put the scientific method into practice. They need to do a research, make some hypothesis, perform some experiments to prove their hypothesis, and finally, they make conclusions and, if possible, present some solutions or alternatives to the problem. With all this information, they create the oral presentation to do in the Science Fair.
Our four students and their teachers have a great time in Zaragoza (Galachos de la Alfranca). They have the opportunity to meet other teachers and students participating in the Fair and they learn more things about science.
With no doubts, this is a fun and interesting programme where we can see how learning science along with English is a fact in our school.
Second grade students participated on the 5th Provincial Bilingual Schools Trip.
Our second graders, along with other second graders from three other bilingual schools from our province, studied and worked on the topic "Learning about the AUSTRALIA".
Students learned about general concepts about AUSTRALIA, their symbols, animals, main monuments and landscapes, geography, etc.
To end up this project, teachers prepared a field trip so students from all these four schools could meet and share some postcards while playing games, doing fun activities and using the English language in a real and relaxed context.
Teachers and students valued this, once again, as a very motivating and fun experience for all. Activity that teachers plan on continuing next year!
