Since the 2022-2023 season, Coach Vu has been named head coach and has been involved in the program since 2019.

Vu is a San Francisco State University graduate where he competed for the Gators. During his time at SFSU, he was a 4-year starter and a top-12 finisher at the NCAA tournament in 2018. 

Prior to SFSU, Coach Vu had attended Rodriguez High School where he was a 2-time CIF State qualifier and finished top-16 in the state. He was named the 2014 Athlete of the Year for the school and for The Daily Republic. 

He has a cat named Raymond and his mother's name is Julie. 

Entering his fourth year, Coach Yanes was a 4-year wrestler at Rodriguez High School where he was a 2-time starter for the team. After his high school career, he continued competing at Sierra College where he was a regional placer. On top of his lavish folkstlye career, Coach Yanes holds numerous Greco-Roman State accolades and had won the U.S Opens Masters title for Greco-Roman in 2019. 

Till this day, Coach Yanes still competes and had even headlined events. 

Dr. A.V. Ventura, "Coach Arjay", has been with Rodriguez High School wrestling program since the beginning of the youth program "Colts" in 2007. 

Soon after the youth program he became the girls wrestling coach for Rodriguez High School before CIF recognized an all girls sanctioned state tournament.   He has taken multiple "Lady Mustangs" to CIF State Tournament with the highest placed wrestler for Rodriguez High School taking 4th place.

"I have seen the evolution of girls high school wrestling in the state and proud to be part of seeing these wrestlers compete at a high level."  "They deserve it!", states Coach Arjay.  "Maybe one day my daughter may want to wrestle too!"

As the new chapter is turned with the new incoming coaching staff led by Coach Brandon Vu,  he is back on board to help continue the legacy of wrestling at Rodriguez High School.

Coach Richard Gutierrez has been in the sport of wrestling since 1985. A graduate of Alhambra High School in Southern California and was a CIF State Placer. He was part of the California All-Star team that travelled to Japan in 1992. He competed in the 1995 Freestyle World Championships in Atlanta, Georgia representing the Philippines. 

Coach Gutierrez has been involved with Rodriguez High School as a volunteer coach since 2007. Upon which he helped establish and coach Rodriguez High's feeder program, Colts Wrestling Club and Green Valley Middle School Wrestling.

Coach Gutierrez has had the opportunity to coach several high schools, St Patrick/St. Vincent High School, Vallejo High School, and Vanden High School, in which he has helped numerous wrestlers qualify and place at the CIF State Meet.

He enjoys playing golf, loves martial arts, loves to walk around Fisherman's Wharf in SF with his family, and taking his dogs Mochi and Macho for walks.
