After serving as a JV coach during the 2019-2020 season, Coach Vu has been named head coach for the 2021-2022 wrestling season.

Vu is a San Francisco State University graduate where he competed for the Gators. During his time at SFSU, he was a 4-year starter and a top-12 finisher at the NCAA tournament in 2018.

Prior to SFSU, Coach Vu had attended Rodriguez High School where he was a 2-time CIF State qualifier and finished top-16 in the state. He was named the 2014 Athlete of the Year for the school and for The Daily Republic.

He has a cat named Raymond and his mother's name is Julie.

Coach Cheyenne Amaro will be back as head Girls coach for the 2021-2022 season after helping coach both the boys and girls during the 2020-2021 COVID season.

Coach Cheyenne is a Sacramento State graduate. During her time at Sac State she competed for the rowing team where she competed in the Novice 8 her first year and 2nd Varsity 4 boat placing 2nd in the American Athletic conference her 2nd year.

Prior to working in FSUSD, Coach Cheyenne worked in Lompoc where she coached Cross country, Track, Volleyball and Girls Wrestling. She had a full lineup of girls on the wrestling team and 2 girls continuing on to masters. She attended Oakmont high school where she competed in Track and Cross country. While competing in these sports she was a CIF State Qualifier in Cross country and set multiple top 10 times and distances for her school in her respectable events in Track and Field.

Coach has a puppy named chico that she enjoys taking on runs and to agility training. She also enjoys spending time with her family when free time allows.

Entering his first year, Coach Yanes was a 4-year wrestler at Rodriguez High School where he was a 2-time starter and a Masters Qualifier for the team. After his high school career, he continued competing at Sierra College where he was a regional placer. On top of his lavish folkstlye career, Coach Yanes holds numerous Greco-Roman State accolades and had won the U.S Opens Masters title for Greco-Roman in 2019.

Dr. A.V. Ventura, "Coach Arjay", has been with Rodriguez High School wrestling program since the beginning of the youth program "Colts" in 2007.

Soon after the youth program he became the girls wrestling coach for Rodriguez High School before CIF recognized an all girls sanctioned state tournament. He has taken multiple "Lady Mustangs" to CIF State Tournament with the highest placed wrestler for Rodriguez High School taking 4th place.

"I have seen the evolution of girls high school wrestling in the state and proud to be part of seeing these wrestlers compete at a high level." "They deserve it!", states Coach Arjay. "Maybe one day my daughter may want to wrestle too!"

As the new chapter is turned with the new incoming coaching staff led by Coach Brandon Vu, he is back on board to help continue the legacy of wrestling at Rodriguez High School.
