Cool Opportunities!

In-Person Artificial Intelligence Summer Course at Khan Lab School with Stanford Mentors for Venture (Alternative) students

Given families’ interest in in-person summer learning, we are excited to partner with Sal Khan’s project based learning school, Khan Lab School, CA to launch an in-person, immersive AI project course this summer on its Mountain View campus from July 5 - 16. In this precollege program, students will develop an AI toolkit and undertake meaningful AI projects like detecting fake news online, predicting bias in the justice system and more to build a compelling AI college admissions profile. We warmly invite your students at Venture (Alternative) (grades 8-12) to apply to join! Please read more about our in-person work at KLS in the 2021-22 school year here. We would greatly appreciate it if you could share the short note at the end of this email with families from grades 8 to 12.

Students will be offered an exclusive in-person cohort in which they will:

  • learn fundamentals of CS and AI and apply them to a discipline of their choice – no coding experience necessary!

  • program AI in Python, apply algorithms to real-world datasets, and explore ethics and applications of AI

  • engage in socially-impactful applied AI project work in disciplines like law, healthcare, journalism, astronomy, and more

Students who are unable to make the dates or location may opt for our live online project option for students around the world by May 31 here!

Warmly,

Adeesh Goel
