Lesson 2 - Motor and sensor set up.

If this is the first time you are using the robot please ask the teacher for the set up demonstration. Otherwise follow the steps to prepare the app for programming.

How to prepare the robot for programming. -

The first time you open the programming app, it will look like this. It will not have motion, drivetrain or sensing code blocks -

The app needs to be told what devices are going to be used.

use the following instructions to install the devices.

1) Select the devices icon in the top right corner of the app

2) Make sure 2nd gen is selected.

3) Click add a device, then select drive train with 2 motors.

4) Left Motor select port 1.

Right motor select port 6.

5) select device option - Brain Inertial

do not make any changes to the wheel size, track width, wheelbase or gear ration.

Click Done when finished.

10) add a bumper to port 9

11) add a touchLED to port 12

12) add the Optical to port 2

13) Add Distance (2nd gen) to port 5

The Completed set up should look like this.

14 To save the project, first you need to give it a name. Click on "VEXcode Project" on the top center of the web page, then change the name to lusson2.iqblocks.

After you give the file a name you MUST then "Save To Your Device"

After you save the file, then you will need to make sure that it is in the shared google folder that you created in lesson 1.

14 ALTERNATE IF USING THE APP) Use File>> Save As when you are finished with the program. Please save it to the shared google drive folder you created in lesson 1.
