"Pride Perspective with Mr. Z"

We were very excited to welcome our students back to campus on Friday. When we return to school on Monday we will kick off February and continue the 3rd Quarter with the start of the 4th week of the grading period.

For those families that have incoming 8th graders next year (Class of 2030), we will be hosting our "Pride Premiere" event on Monday - February 2nd starting at 5:30 for families interested in athletics, a general meeting in auditorium at 6:00 pm. followed by a course/program/organizations fair from 6:30-7:30 pm.

Please monitor Canvas and Unit Assessment Plans to see upcoming Progress Checks for Understanding (non-weighted grades) and Assessments of Learning (weighted grades) as part of the units in the 3rd Quarter. 

A reminder for our students and families, Texas state law now bans all personal communication devices during the instructional day. If students are found to have these devices out during the school day, including passing period, lunch and advisory period, the devices will be confiscated and there will be disciplinary consequences.

• February 13th - FISD Staff Development Half-Day for Teachers  - No School for FISD Students

• February 16th - No School for FISD Students and Staff

On colder weather days: When we experience temperatures of 40 degrees or below, students are able to enter the building starting at 8:15 AM. Please plan your drop-off time accordingly during cold weather.

The 2025-2026 school year will conclude learning experiences with students on the final day of the 2025-2026 school calendar. Students are expected to be in attendance and will be completing their last assessment of learning of the last unit in the 4th quarter in all classes up through the last day of school on Friday - May 22nd.
