Hello! My name is Jenny Pitts and I am so excited to be your child's art teacher this year. I have been teaching for 18 years, and I am proud to say that I have been in Frisco the entire time. For the last 9 years I have had the pleasure of teaching art to Smith students! I am so excited to be a part of the Smith family again this year and I look forward to seeing every student's creativity come to life!

Hi Everyone! My name is Xavier Garcia, and it is my privilege to serve as your music teacher for the 25-26 school year. I hold a Music Education degree from the University of North Texas (Go Mean Green!) and was a member of 3 choirs during my time there: A Cappella, Concert Choir, and UpFront. This past summer, I studied at SMU to get my Kodaly Level 1 certification! Music and singing have always been such an integral part of my life, and I am honored to get to share that love with all the students. This will be my 2nd year at Smith, and I am so glad I get to spend it here with the #SMITHSTRONG family!

This is my sixth year at Smith Elementary and I'm super excited for the this school year. Before coming to Smith I have taught Physical Education and Health, as well as coaching high school football, track & field and volleyball for Richardson Independent School District. I attended Faulkner University where I was awarded an athletic scholarship to play football. While finishing my degree I became an undergraduate assistant football coach for the Faulkner Eagles. While attending Faulkner University I received my Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. I have been married for ten years to the love of my life Christie, and we have an amazing daughter named Caselyn. I am passionate about fitness and a healthy lifestyle. I bring that passion to the student's here at Smith.

Hello everyone!! My name is Lanie Schmidt. This is my first year in P.E and I am super excited to be on the specials team. I have lived in Frisco Texas since the age of five. I currently live at home with my family and three dogs. My mom taught at Smith for many years, making me a Smith graduate. Now I have the amazing opportunity to be back here with the Smith Strong family to start my journey. From elementary to high school, I played a few sports, but the one that had my heart was volleyball. Now I am studying education to hopefully become a teacher one day! I know we will have an amazing year 25-26!
