Lauren Simko

My name is Lauren Simko, and I am excited to serve as the Instructional Coach at Smith Elementary! I graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Development and Family Studies, with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. My career in education began in 2008 when I started teaching fourth grade. After several years in the classroom, I took some time away from education to raise my children. I returned to the classroom in 2019 and joined Frisco ISD, where I had the opportunity to teach both third and fourth grade at Smith Elementary.

In 2024 I transitioned into the Section 504 and Testing Coordinator role, where I have had the opportunity to work at multiple campuses across Frisco ISD. Now, I am excited to transition into the Instructional Coach role at Smith and continue growing alongside our staff and students.

I am a lifelong learner and believe that some of the best learning happens when we learn from one another. I am passionate about collaboration, supporting teachers, and finding ways to make learning meaningful and engaging for students. I look forward to building relationships, learning alongside you, and supporting the incredible work happening at Smith! 

Johnathon Molina

My name is Johnathon Molina, and I am excited to continue supporting the Smith community as a Digital Learning Coach! I have been in education since 2012 and earned my degree in Elementary Education from Concordia College.

Before becoming a Digital Learning Coach, I spent 11 years teaching in teh classroom in Minnesota and Texas. This year marks my third year as a Digital Learning Coach, where I have had the opportunity to work alongside teachers and students across multiple campuses.

As a DLC, I support teachers with integrating technology into instruction, exploring digital tools and resources, troubleshooting technology needs, and finding practical ways to use technology to support student learning. Whether it is collaborating during planning, working with students in the classroom, or helping find a solution to a technology need, I am here to support however I can.

I am excited for another year of collaborating, learning, and working alongside the Smith community!
