Beginning Monday, September 11th students can pick up an “Advanced/AP Change Form” in the counseling office. The form is only available in the counseling office and must be complete for any change to be considered
This form must be completed and turned in no later an 4:30pm on September 21st, 2023. All changes will take effect Monday, September 25th, 2023 and no sooner.
Schedule changes will be made only to those who want to change levels of class, out of an advanced or AP or into and advanced or AP course. We are not able to make any other schedule changes or accept any other types of change requests. This process will require both Teacher and Parent signatures and approval.
11th/12th Grade ONLY: You may request Late Arrival, Early Release if you do not already have 2 on your schedule
AP with no lower level: The following courses do not have a lower-level equivalent and can only be dropped to release/late arrival. If your course is required for graduation your counselor will give you your options to ensure you meet all graduation requirements. AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics 1,2, C, AP Spanish 4 or 5, AP Euro, AP Music Theory, AP Calc BC, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Art courses. AP Computer Science, AP French 4, Spanish 3 Adv
If a change is needed and will impact graduation requirements. A counselor will work with you on next steps, but a form must be submitted.
If a student is requesting to drop an AP or Advanced course the following criteria must be met: students have completed all assigned work, students have attended tutorials when needed, students have retested when needed.
Changing your schedule now may impact your lunch, your teachers, and your current class schedule. Not all changes will work with all schedules and may not be possible. Previous versions of your schedule will not be granted after a change has been made. We cannot undo changes. We are unable to predict in advance what your schedule will look like with the change. If you are going into an on-level class, the grade from the 1st 6 weeks does follow to the new class and will be a part of your Q1 average. Please note that not all courses have an on level or lower equivalent to change. 11th and 12th can request a release or late arrival, only if they do not already have 2 in their schedule and their credit count allows. If there is not an available option, the course will remain. Speak with a counselor if you have questions or concerns about classes that can impact graduation.
Your counselor will call you down or email your change to you once your form has been completed to change your schedule.

PSAT for 10th and 11th grade October 4- Be Prepared!
Frisco ISD will administer the PSAT, free of charge, to all 10th and 11th grade students on October 4, 2023. The PSAT helps students identify academic areas of strength and growth, as well as prepare for college entrance exams like the SAT. This is also the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program for students in 11th grade and the National Recognition Programs for both 10th and 11th grade students.
All 10th and 11th grade students enrolled at Reedy High School are automatically registered for the exam.
Please avoid scheduling appointments for your student on this day as there is no make-up day for this test.
This fall the PSAT/NMSQT will be administered in a new digital format that will provide an overall easier testing experience for students. High school students are encouraged to opt-in to the District’s 1 for All Chromebook program to ensure device compatibility with online testing.
Accommodations in a student’s IEP or Section 504 plan do not automatically apply to College Board exams like the PSAT. Parents must contact Katrina Stroot (strootk@friscoisd.org) submit all required documents by August 11, 2023, if a student needs to add or change accommodations with the College Board’s Services for Students with Disabilities. Additional information can be found on the district website.
Students can access PSAT/NMSQT Study Guide 2023 to prepare.
